Bhushi Dam in Lonavala can be the 3rd oldest dam in Maharashtra as well as 4th in India. It is built in 1860s by ‘Great Indian Peninsular Railway’ to supply water for steam engines. Other oldest dams are built before 1860. Today also this dam holds that much water efficiently like before. Currently this dam is owned by ‘Indian Railway’. This dam is surrounded by greenery and mountain. The main water source for dam is monsoon. Millions of people enjoys milky water view of this dam.
